Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #59 - Sketch Challenge

Tuesday, March 28, 2017

Hello everyone,

I am here with Retro Rubber challenge blog and we have a sketch challenge for you.  I don't know about you I love sketch challenges!  This one is such a cool one to play with.  Here is the picture to help you join in on the fun.

No automatic alt text available.

Here is my take on the sketch.  I am using one of the MFT Pure Innocence stamps called Hello Cupcake.  This stamp was released sometime in 2011, but is now retired so I could not link to the stamp.  However, if you love MFT Innocence stamps like I do, you can get some of the retired stamps as digital stamps on Etsy, here is the link!  And Hello Cupcake is in this store!  My sentiment is from Avery Elle set called "So Happy" which was released June 2014.

Here is how I put my card together:

I colored the image with copics, I added my layers and finished my card off with enamel dots.

Thanks again for stopping by, please don't forget to stop over at the Retro Rubber Challenge blog and join the fun and check out the beautiful projects the design team members have created. You have until April 7th to join in on the fun! Leave me a comment to tell me how you liked my card, I love to read them.

Hello everyone!

I am here with the Christmas Card Challenges, and the challenge is "mitten".  Doesn't that sound like fun.  Be sure to check out the blog over at CCC to see what the design team has created!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I am using the Reverse Confetti stamp set called "Smitten Mittens".  I used the Confetti Cuts Smitten Mittens to die cut them out.  The frame is also Reverse Confetti.  I used some design paper in the background so the mitten will stand out .

your project. Check out the Christmas Card Challenges blog for more inspiration and to link your project.

I am sharing with you today a fairly new stamp, when I saw this, I just had to have it.  It is a Hero Arts stamp called "Antique Bee and Flowers".  I stamped the image on Kraft cardstock and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils.  I accented the bee with glossy accents and used my gold pen by Copics to accent the berries around the image.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts set "Thank You Messages"

Closer look of the bee with the glossy accents.

If you have not figured it out, the theme is Spring and you need to use coffee, tea or cocoa image on your project. The hop will run from March 24-31.

On my card I am featuring the Hero Arts stamp digital kit called  "Caffeine Fix".  This is a great set to have, it has many coffee, tea and cocoa images and lots of sentiments. On my card, I used the coffee cup image and resized them and put lots of cups on my card.  I colored each one with copic markers - B2, 4, 6, G07, 12, 14, YR68, R81, 83, 85 and V20, 22, 25.  I wanted to use bright colors since the Coffee Lovers Hop is all about Spring.  I also wanted to use a stencil since the challenge this month with a2z is "Playing with Stencils".   The stencil I used is called Confetti, which I sponged Hero Arts Soft Pool on the background.   The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Stamp Set Thank You Messages.

If you like any of the products I used on my card, please stop over at the a2z Scrapbooking Esty store. You can also use the code "Donna15" to receive 15% off of a $25.00 order.

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Hello everyone!

It's Donna here, and today I am featuring the Joy Clair Color by Faith Bible Journaling stamp set Lion and Lamb set.  This set was released last March 2016.  Calling all the Bible Journaling folks out there, this is a wonderful set to have to use in your bible!  I decided to make a card with this set, because I am not a journaler (is that a word)!  If you would like to see what I designed last year with this set, you can click here.  Here is an image of the stamp set, lots of sentiments and images for your jounaling needs.

Lion and Lamb
JC_Lion and the Lamb_D Idlet

Here is how I put my card together:
  1. My card is an A2 card (4 1/4 x 5 1/2),
  2.  The top design paper measures 4 1/4 x 5 12,
  3. I used the SVG file that you get free when you purchase any of the Joy Clair stamps,
  4. I stamped the image with memento ink and colored him with copics - using the colors C1, 3, 5 and R81
  5. I stamped the sentiment with black memento,
  6. I die cut the two layering oval stitched shapes,
  7. I then sponged Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass distress in on the top oval layer,
  8. I then used foam dots to pop the lamb up to give the card some dimension.
